I tend to use open source software for Content Management because that is where the industry is evolving. I started using open source software when I was contracted to create my first ecommerce site for Titan Motorsports in 2006. I had previously maintained their Yahoo store, but designing an ecommerce site from scratch was brand new to me. Using OsCommerce, I was able to create a nice looking ecommerce site. Titan has evolved from a small company into a larger one, and has turned to new technology to meet its current demands for ecommerce, however - we have both greatly benifited from working together. The skills I learned helped to open the door to my future in open source software for web development. Titan still uses the database of pictures and products that I made for them on their new website titanmotorsports.com.
