About Rob Bennett
My interest in computer graphics started when I was a teenager, because my mother was a desktop publisher. I dabbled a bit, but at first I was more interested in fine art. I tried many different styles of fine art, and eventually found myself back where I started. The power of the computer as a medium seemed fascinating. The finest vector lines could only be created with a graphics program. The problem was finding an area of work.
I first started working in the graphics industry in 1999 when I started screen printing and sign making for a sign company in Orlando, FL. After some time I decided to take a few classes at the local college. Years went by and I graduated, taking the knowledge that I had gained from work and school and I began working as a freelance graphic designer. I designed t-shirts, vinyl graphics and signs, promotional items such as lapel pins and patches, and websites.
When I worked a summer contract position for a lapel pin company in 2005, I learned the true power of the web. Since then I have been researching proper web standards and web 2.0 practices. I have designed ecommerce sites, corporate web sites, dynamic gallery sites, flash animated websites, web graphics and banners, and promotional emails.
I pride myself on efficiency and resourcefulness. The world wide web has so many tools to organize and speed a web designers workflow. There are many tools already at hand, such as photoshop actions. I often find myself researching php snippets and open source content management software for my larger sites. This can save time in development and eliminate errors in hand coding.
My experience has taken me to almost every facet of graphic design. I hope that you will see the true potential that I have in managing your graphics needs and finding the best solutions. I have worked hard because I believe we can grow together. I delight in seeing my knowledge and talent going to good use, and knowing that you are better off because of it.
